stones taught me to fly
love, it taught me to lie
life taught me to die
so it's not hard to fall
when you float like a cannonball

Twelve oz. of randomness

Can't say that I really know what the title's about this time. I just sort of felt like writing, so here I am. I was sort of in one of those moods again last night (Saturday) - where I feel stuck. That got resolved within a few hours of its onset though...so it's alright. Lesson learnt: I should try to have faith and not fear.

Anyway, so about my first clubbing experience at Distrikt this past Friday. Let's backtrack to roughly 9:30 p.m. I tried to work as fast as I could on this huge shark dissection, and I can say that it was quite the success. We finished at 9:20 and proceeded to clean up. I was out of there and at Jo's rez soonafter. I packed up my stuff, and we headed downstairs to where Kev was waiting for us. Got to Kev's place and started to get ready. Deciding that I didn't need a shower (seeing as how I'd taken one a mere 6 hours ago), I got changed, popped in the contacts, threw on some paste (which is what I like to call makeup), and headed out. By this time, it was already 10:30 or so.

Traffic on the way down was pretty cruddy. Weird lane-squeezing and such was happening. We drove around and finally parked on a small street off of Queen. During the walk over to the club, we met up with a bunch of other people; Khoa, Grace, Sopheak, Teena, André, Jason, etc. As we were waiting in the "VIP" line, we apparently were let in fairly promptly. I really don't have a past experience to compare to, so I wouldn't know. I'm still quite surprised that they let me, considering I used my passport as identification. The picture is from way back in Grade 9, I was wearing contacts that night, and my face shape wasn't even the same back then. Hrm, oh well. As long as I got in. :)

It was kinda weird just beyond the point where we got patted down. We'd all entered blindly without receiving tickets from the bouncers...so when we got up to the ticket-collector, we stood around trying to figure out what to do. Luckily, the guy was cool and just let us through anyway. Turns out that he was Sheeeellen's friend. Heh. Small world.

We got into the club and found everyone else. The rest of the night was good times. The drinks loosened me up after a while - I wasn't too keen on dancing initially, but eventually I just didn't care. At least no one was taping like at last year's wedding...LOL! Anyway, so I figured that most people probably weren't looking, or looked just as silly as me trying to dance. Heh!

At one point throughout the night, I went to the washroom with Jo to wash our hands (or moreso, 'cuz she wanted to). I was alright then; just walked down the stairs and went to the washroom. The only thing I noticed was that my hearing was muffled and all messed up. We made our way back upstairs and continued to party. Then came the point where I really had to use the bathroom. I'd had two rum and cokes and a beer, so my bladder was exploding. So yes, off to the stairs I went, and as I descended I was like "Whoa...the stairs are floating. Hrmmm....that shouldn't be happening..." LOL! So yes, I made sure to hang onto the railings tightly as I made my way to the washroom. Now for the actual washroom experience. As most females might know (maybe even some of you male readers too!), most ladies squat while using public washrooms. So here I was, squatting in my heels (which already wasn't a good idea), when I decided to look up. Now that definitely was not a good idea at all. The next thing I knew, I was teetering backwards and about to fall into the toilet. Hahahaha! Luckily, I reached out in time and grabbed hold of the coat hook on the stall's door. I did, however, manage to give the entire set of stalls a good shake down. Upon grasping the coat hook, all you could hear was a domino effect of violent shaking throughout the attached stalls. WHOOPS?! =S

I was still really thirsty when I got back to the dancefloor, but I also realized that more booze would probably be a bad idea...so Kev and I went to get bottled water at the bar instead. The five of us (Jo, Brian, Terry, Kev, and I) left around 3 a.m. or so (?). While walking to the car, on Queen, some dude asked Kev and I where he could possibly find prostitutes. LOL! Okayyyy....now that's just weird. I pointed him in the direction of the clubs. Haha! Kev wasn't feeling super, so we hung around the adjacent park for a bit....then made our way back uptown. I was pretty hungry by the time we got home, so Brian, Terry and I fried up some bacon and eggs...while enjoying it with an episode Family Guy...before calling it a night. I headed upstairs, talked with Kev til 7:00, and finally decided that I should sleep 'cuz a headache was setting in.

The Bradford tournament didn't happen for me. I couldn't drag myself out of bed a half hour later when Brian came in to wake me up. So yea, I stayed in bed all day sleeping til 2 p.m. or so. Oh, then I also spent the rest of the day sleeping...on and off. Showered around 6:50 p.m., and then we all headed out to Korean BBQ. The wait was pretty darn long. It's always so busy there. We even tried walking across Highway 7 to see how busy Walker Hill was...and that place was packed too. Anyway, Emily from ABC joined us for dinner. We stood outside joking around after dinner 'til it became too cold to bear (at least for me).

So yea, Kev dropped me home...and I was up clearing out the computer and stuff 'cuz I couldn't sleep. So I decided to talk on the phone around 3 and didn't sleep til..maybe...4? Woke up for church today and bumped into my grandparents! =) I haven't seen them in so long. I'm never around when they all head out to dinner and such. I'm always working or have class or something. =( Had Shanghai food at Metro for lunch, then headed to Market to do some grocery shopping and have Chinese dessert! I passed out during the ride home, and when I actually got home, I plunked myself down at my desk in my room and just passed out again - jacket and all. I finally awoke around 3:00 from a bad dream (argh!) and groggily went downstairs to the computer. I swung by work around 5:30 to pick up my schedule and drop off my holiday availability, then came home to pick up my mom and Joe for dinner. We headed out for a quick bite at Congee Wong, and now I'm home again.

I think I've blogged enough for tonight.
